🏦 Accepting "MMA" Move Money Authority | Altruist
Once your bank account has been linked to your Altruist accounts your advisor will send one final request referred to as an MMA or "Move Money Authority". This will allow us to make deposits to fund accounts, withdrawals to your bank for scheduled distributions, and aid in easily and quickly completing future service requests such as the processing of a Required Minimum Distribution.
The details outlined below are used on the desktop version of Altruist but the procedure is very similar for the mobile app as well.
Authorizing MMA through the Altruist Website
1. log in to Altruist - HERE
2. Click the account "Overview" tab at the top, you should be here by default. Find the "Review" button outlined in the red box below.
3. A new screen will load in, from here select the "Review" button underlined.
4. A window will slide in from the right and will denote which account(s) your advisor is requesting access to. Please review this section to ensure this is the correct bank you'd like linked. From here select the "Approve" button if all appears well.
5. You should now see an "Authorization Approved" message at the top if the approval was a success.
In the event that you're confirming through email, the procedure is similar but the nuances are listed below -
1. Log in to your email provider and find the email sent to you from Altruist - it should look like the screenshot below. Select the "View" button - from here you will be directed to Altruists website to login if you have not already.
