👪 Beneficiary Update or Change | Altruist
Updating, adding, or changing a beneficiary on Altruist's website is quite easy and shouldn't take you more than about 5 minutes!
Outlined below are step-by-step instructions on how to complete this using the Altruist Desktop website.
1. Start by logging in to the Altruist website - Once you've done this, make sure you're in the "Overview" tab at the top and then navigate over to your initials in the upper right corner denoted by the arrow. Click your initials.
2. Once you've clicked on your initials, a small window will open up along the right hand side of your screen - Click on "Settings".
3. Once you've selected "Settings", the Settings page will load in and default to your "Profile" view. You'll want to select "Accounts" as denoted by the red arrow below.
4. After selecting "Accounts" a new page will load in and you'll want to scroll to the very bottom of that page. From there you'll see a section where you're able to see the "Add Primary" button.
- NOTE: If you already have beneficiaries listed, this will be where you go to update or change them as well as elect your contingents.
5. Another small window will open along the right hand corner of your screen and from here you will make your selection of the most applicable beneficiary type. After this please click "Next".
6. Altruist requires that all beneficiary updates or elections have the persons:
- First and Last Name
- SSN
- DOB
- Address.
Once you've elected your beneficiaries hit "Save" at the bottom and you have successfully designated your beneficiaries!
